Wick Week Free 80’s Window Competition @ Wick Village
Jul 29 – Aug 5 all-day
  • The competition will start on Saturday 29th July at the Vintage Fair
  • Throughout Wick Week, ending on the 80’s day disco Saturday 5th August
  • Answer the 80’s themed questions, each poster (in shop windows) has a bonus question for fun
  • Forms need to be handed into the Wick Information Centre by Saturday 5th August. The winner will be announced at the 80’s Disco
  • £25 cash prize for the winner and a surprise bonus prize
Vintage Fair and Vintage Car Display @ Wick Hall
Jul 29 @ 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Vintage cars and motorbike display in the car park
  • Vintage Fair selling scrumptious cakes, cards, indulgence bath and body products, healthy summer drinks, decorated candles, bags, baby clothes and jewelry
  • Children’s games, tombola, picnic lunches in the Small Hall and live music outside
  • Entrance is 50p per adult (to include a free raffle ticket), children are FREE
  • Wick Village Traders  80’s window competition to start from 29th July – 5th August (prize for the winner)

Big Bang @ Wick Hall Small Hall
Jul 31 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Big Bang will be a musical workshop where children aged 5-11 come and build instruments from scratch, from scraps. The children will then work on creating music together like ‘Stomp’.

A Short Walk Around Old Wick @ Wick Village - Meeting at the Wick Information Centre
Jul 31 @ 2:00 pm

The walk around Wick centres around Wick Village and along the main road leading from Littlehampton to Arundel. The walk includes several buildings of interest and flint walling- common to this Area of West Sussex. Roger Butterworth will be your friendly, local guide.

Coffee & Card @ Wick Hall (Small Hall)
Aug 1 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • A card making taster session, to include cards, refreshments and cake
  • 12 years – adult (12-16’s must be accompanied by an adult)

Computer Course Tasters @ Wick Information Centre
Aug 1 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Aimed at over 50s, the course (each session 60 minutes) offered on the day is dependent on the demand of the four options:

  • Taster Course- For those who do not have/use a computer. Email, web browsing and ‘using the mouse exercises’
  • Microsoft Word formatting exercise and Excel- Creating a spreadsheet including formulas and inserting a pie chart
  • Microsoft Windows 10 overview- Tour around the new interface (Apps and Charms and access to online tutorials)
  • Using Tablet Overview- Bring your tablet/iPad (some available at the Centre). Tips on how to use the tablets and opportunity to have any questions answered

Judo Taster Course @ Wick Hall

  • Basic Judo taster course
  • 5 years plus
  • Loose clothing is recommended. No shoes to be worn on the mat
Judo Self Defence (Over 16’s) @ Wick Hall
Aug 1 @ 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
  • Over 16’s only
  • Teaching basic self defence
  • Loose clothing is recommended. No shoes to be worn on the mat
Family Party @ The Wickbourne Centre
Aug 1 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

 

A Family Disco with DJ, games and loads of fun. All ages welcome, specifically aimed at primary school aged children.

*Under 12’s must be accompanied by an adult

Paper Craft (Card Making) with Emma Goddard @ Wick Hall (Small Hall)
Aug 1 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
  • Card making for beginners
  • 12 years plus
  • 12-16 year old’s must be accompanied by an adult
  • A chance to make 3 hand stamped cards with envelopes provided
  • No experience necessary and all supplies are provided

Soccer School @ The Littlehampton Academy Astroturf
Aug 2 @ 9:00 am – Aug 4 @ 12:00 pm
  • This football-packed event includes daily warm-ups, skill drills, games, communication exercises, team building exercises and warm downs
  • Soccer School is open to anyone aged 7-14
  • Tournament and BBQ (burgers and hot dogs £1) on the last day where families will be invited to come and see what the children have learnt over the duration of the week
  • £15 fee includes a Soccer School t-shirt, fruit, certificate and participation medal

  • Exciting, interactive fun for babies, toddlers and pre-school children

Children and Family Centre Celebration of National Play Day 2017 @ The Wickbourne Centre

  • Find out more about why children benefit from messy play
  • An opportunity to take part in a mix of creative, messy and malleable play experiences
  • Dress in old clothing and take ideas away for play at home
  • Children aged 1-5 years (parents required to stay)

Come dressed as your favourite Disney character and have some Disney themed theatre fun, sing songs and play some Disney Games.

Bee Bop Baby DISCO @ The Wickbourne Centre
Aug 3 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Bring your dancing feet! Music, lights, dance, fun and games with our centre team and DJ Jon Jolly! Refreshments are provided for the children (aged 0 to 5 years).

*Please note that parents are required to stay and pre-booking is required

The Wick Fryers Lunch for the over 50s @ Wick Hall (Large Hall)
Aug 3 @ 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm

Come and enjoy a lunch with friends. Flavoured water provided with a choice of:

  • Fish Cake and Chips
  • Battered Sausage and Chips
  • Sausage and Chips

The lunch will finish at 1:15pm giving people enough time to leave the building or stay on for the 50up Bingo costing a £1 entrance fee (to include a drink and biscuit).

  • Over 18s only
  • Doors open at 1.30pm
  • Eyes down at 2pm

Flower Fun for Kids and Parents @ Wick Hall (Small Hall)
Aug 3 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
  • Come and join in at our Wick Week Flower Fun for Kids and parents
  • Both child and parent will take part
  • Cost to include all materials required to complete your project and refreshments

*Booking is essential and can be made at the Flower Shop in Wick

Wick’s Got Talent @ The Wickbourne Centre
Aug 3 @ 6:30 pm

The biggest talent show Wick has ever seen! Singing, dancing, circus tricks, whatever your talent come and show case it to the audience and judges.

3 categories:

  • Year 3-6 (7 to 11 year olds)
  • Year 7-11 (11-16 year olds)
  • Adults (17+)
  • Trophies for the runners up and winners of each age group
  • Entrants arrive at 6:30pm, doors open at 7pm

* Online booking is essential and must be completed by Wednesday 2nd August. Due to the popularity of this event applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

  • Come and bring your best made up moves and see your creations come to life
  • Experienced puppeteer Jack will be leading a session, making paper puppets and then fun will be made bringing them to life

Quiz Night @ Wickbourne Centre

Test your brains and knowledge against other teams with the now legendary annual Wick Week Quiz night with your host Paul Sanderson.

  • £4 per person (maximum teams of 7)
  • £100 cash prize for the winning team plus runner up prizes
  • Ages 15+
  • First question at 7:30pm

  • Jumble sale in the car park and Large Hall (free)
  • Pet Show in the Large Hall on the front of the stage and Dog Show in the Small Hall (times and registration to be confirmed)
  • BBQ food and drinks available to buy
  • 80’s style family disco from 3pm – 5pm in the Large Hall

Code Club Taster Session @ Wickbourne Centre

  • An opportunity to take part in a fun introduction to computer coding using the BBC micro:bit
  • Aimed at children aged 9 and over
  • Refresh coffee shop will also be open
